Sooner Late Models back in action Saturday at Enid Speedway

by John Rittenoure - TULSA, Okla. (September 7, 2021) - The Complete Well Testing Sooner Late Model Series is back in action this Saturday at Enid Speedway.

It will be the fourth visit of the season to the Garfield County high banked 3/8’s mile oval. Enid’s Kip Hughes won the first two visits there this season and Dustin Allen won on August 7.

At stake Saturday is the CWT Sooner Series points lead. Three-time defending champion Hughes and Hayden Ross have been locked in a tight points race all season with Ross leading most of that time. On August 14 Hughes picked up his sixth victory of the season and moved into the points lead. Now Ross finds himself trailing by 60 points and needing a win.

Sport Mods, OK Factory Stocks and Hot Shots will also be racing on the program.

Come early to the races and enjoy the Garfield County Free Fair that is taking place on the grounds surrounding the speedway.

Grandstands open at 5 p.m. with racing getting underway at 7:30.

About Sooner Late Model Series

The Sooner Late Model Series was formed in 2016 by Enid Speedway co-promoter Mark Brill. Brill felt there was not many opportunities for late model competitors to race in Oklahoma and the Sooner Late Model Series was formed. Now the series has grown beyond the borders of Oklahoma with events held in the neighboring states of Kansas, Texas and Arkansas as well.
