Ross sweeps Sooner show at Enid Speedway

by John Rittenoure (Maxx Ramsey photo) - MUSKOGEE, Okla. (October 9, 2026) - Eli Ross started inside second row in Saturday’s Sooner Late Model Series presented by Hayden Ross Motorsports Foundation A-Feature at Enid Speedway, but that did not stop him from taking the initial lead.
The 2024 series champion survived three restarts and led all 20 laps to win for the fifth time this season. It was his 12th career victory.
Damian Patocka gave chase and was able to keep 12-year old Callan Hill behind him to finish second. Hill, who won at Enid on August 15 in his first career start with the series, started sixth and worked his way into third on lap 13. But neither Patocka or Hill could reel in Ross. Bob Bills finished fourth and pole sitter Denver Howard fell to fifth at the finish.
Eric Brill continues to hold down the points lead over Dakota Dellinger and Ashlee Buck, who blew an engine on Friday at Thunderbird Speedway continues to had the Rookie standings. Buck had a busy night as her team purchased a new engine and installed it overnight to make Saturday’s show.
The season is scheduled to wrap up on Saturday, October 17, at Beaver County Raceway.

Sooner Late Model Series
The Sooner Late Model Series was formed in 2016 by Enid Speedway co-promoter Mark Brill. Brill felt there was not many opportunities for late model competitors to race in Oklahoma and the Sooner Late Model Series was formed. Now the series has grown beyond the borders of Oklahoma with events held in the neighboring states of Kansas, Texas and Missouri, and Arkansas.
