John Rittenoure - TULSA, Okla. (September 19, 2022) - Saturday night the Complete Well Testing Sooner Late Model Series will join forces with the GRT Legends Late Models Series presented by SuperClean for the first time at Crawford County Speedway.
Billed as “Battle at the Border”, the two sanctioning bodies will race together in a rules vs. rules event, no mix or match, and 100 bonus points will be given to all #LocalLegends who attend. Sooner Series competitors will receive their normal points as well as 100 show points.
Drivers will draw for heat race starting positions with feature lineups heads up from heat race finishes per Sooner Series rules. The top 2 or 3 rows (depending on car count) will redraw. Payout is $1,000-to-win and $325-to-start.
For the fans SuperClean will have a booth on the grandstand side handing out free samples. The Sooner Series Design One Racewear trailer will also be setup offering a full array of racing apparel.
Leading the Sooner Series competitors list is Hayden Ross of Muskogee. Ross is looking for his first championship and currently tops the standings with 5 victories. 4-time defending champion Kip Hughes sits in second with 3 wins. Eddie Martin of Stilwell is third in points followed by Kerney Weaver of Muskogee and Richard Shepler of Mounds.
Geoff Aitken of Pottsville, Arkansas tops the GRT Legends presented by SuperClean points chart despite still looking for his first victory of the season. Ross Farmer is 2nd in points with one victory and is expected to be joined by his grandson Preston Farmer. Steven Crocker, Eddie Hoyer, Robert Myers and Ben Waggoner are just a few of the drivers expected on Saturday.
Pits open at 4 p.m., racing begins at 7:30.
