by John Rittenoure - TULSA, Okla. (April 12, 2021) - It has been a busy past four weeks for the Complete Well Testing Sooner Late Model Series with five races across three states. That stat will change this Saturday with a visit to Monarch Motor Speedway in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Saturday’s stop at Monarch Motor Speedway is the first of two scheduled for this season. The CWT Sooner Series returns on June 18.
Hayden Ross of Muskogee leads the points chase after five races with a 205 point lead over three-time defending champion Kip Hughes of Enid. Ross has yet to find victory lane while Hughes has one win which came at Enid Speedway two weeks ago.
Five different winners of emerged so far this season. Dustin Allen of Enid won the season opener at Crawford County Speedway on March 20.
The next week racing moved to the half-mile at Thunderbird Speedway for a two-day event and Indiana driver Joe Godsey won night one with Jacob Magee of Caney, Kansas winning night two.
Hughes picked up a win at his home track when the series traveled to Enid Speedway on April 3. Last week Josh Leonard of Gibbon, Nebraska topped a 24-car field at 81 Speedway.
Race time Saturday is 7 p.m. Pit gates open at 4.
