Sooner Series travels to Monarch Motor Speedway, Oklahoma Sports Park this weekend

by John Rittenoure - TULSA, Okla. (June 14, 2021) - Weather stopped the Complete Well Testing Sooner Late Model Series from scheduled visits to Monarch Motor Speedway and Oklahoma Sports Park back in April and May.

Hopefully weather will not be an issue this weekend. Friday Monarch Motor Speedway will host the Sooner Series followed by a trip to Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada on Saturday.

In ten events run this season nine different drivers have visited victory lane. Only Kip Hughes has repeated with two victories. Dustin Allen, Joe Godsey, Jacob Magee, Josh Leonard, Delbert Smith, Zach Nickell, Colton Horner and AJ Brochu have logged wins. Brochu won last Saturday at the Belleville High Banks.

Hayden Ross of Muskogee continues to lead the points race by 235 points over Hughes.

About Sooner Late Model Series

The Sooner Late Model Series was formed in 2016 by Enid Speedway co-promoter Mark Brill. Brill felt there was not many opportunities for late model competitors to race in Oklahoma and the Sooner Late Model Series was formed. Now the series has grown beyond the borders of Oklahoma with events held in the neighboring states of Kansas, Texas and Arkansas as well.
