By John Rittenoure (Rickety Roach photo) - HUTCHINSON, Kan. (August 23, 2025) - Day 2 of the Super Dirt Showdown at SaltCity at the Hutchinson, Kansas State Fairgrounds looked much like Day 1 as Dusty Leonard raced to a second straight victory in the United Rebel Series vs. Hayden Ross Motorsports Foundation Sooner Late Model Series co-sanctioned main event on Saturday.

After setting fast time and winning the third heat, Leonard raced off the pole in the 20-lap main and raced unchallenged to complete a perfect 6-for-6 wins over the two nights and bank a $3,000 pay check to go with $1,500 earned on Friday.

Dan Smith started outside front row and followed Leonard to a second place finish. Dustin Bolster started 5th and finished third, John Hansen was fourth and Nate Jantz rounded out the top five.

The Sooner Series returns to action on September 6 with a visit to Enid Speedway.

Sooner Late Model Series

The Sooner Late Model Series was formed in 2016 by Enid Speedway co-promoter Mark Brill. Brill felt there was not many opportunities for late model competitors to race in Oklahoma and the Sooner Late Model Series was formed. Now the series has grown beyond the borders of Oklahoma with events held in the neighboring states of Kansas, Texas and Arkansas.
