Sooner Late Models travel to Crawford County Speedway on Monday


By John Rittenoure - TULSA, Okla. (June 28, 2017) - The Sooner Late Model Series will make its first trip to the state of Arkansas on Monday, July 3, with a visit to Crawford County Speedway.

Points leader Jay Sale will lead the way for the what will be the 7th event of the 2017 season. The holiday weekend show will also feature fireworks.

So far four drivers have won feature events in the first six events. Sale has two wins and four top five finishes to his credit. Jason Redman is 350 points behind in second. Redman won his first career feature last month at Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada and has climbed in the standings thanks to some consistent finishes. Logan Ellis is 55 points behind Redman in third while Wayne  Bush and Steven Hawkins complete the top five.

Last weekend Bo Day won at Southern Oklahoma Speedway and Elk City for his first SLMS wins. Defending champion Mark Harrison also has a victory this season winning at Enid Speedway on May 6.

Racing begins at Crawford County Speedway at 7:30 p.m.

Crawford County Speedway ls located in Van Buren, Arkansas. From I-40 take exit 5 then go 6 miles north on Hwy 59.
