Sooner Late Models visit 81 Speedway Saturday

by John Rittenoure, TULSA, Okla. (October 10, 2017) - The Sooner Late Model Series returns to action this Saturday with a visit to C. Ray Hall’s 81 Speedway.

It will be the first time the Sooner Late Models have raced at the 3/8’s mile oval that is located in the Wichita, Kansas suburb of Park City.

Eight drivers have visited victory lane this season and defending champion Mark Harrison and Bo Day lead the win chart with 3 wins apiece. However Jason Redman leads the points race with one victory to his credit.

Only three shows stand in the way of Redman and his hopes to win the SLMS championship. Jay Sale, Steven Hawkins, Wayne Bush and Nate Jantz are all still in the points race and make up the top five in points.

Gates open at 5 p.m. with the first green flag waving at 7.

81 Speedway is located at 100 W. 77th St. N., Valley Center, Kansas. Track is located north of Wichita on I-135, exit 16, then 0.7 mile west on 77th St.
